Wolf Alice — Ellie Rowsell (vocals/guitar), Joff Oddie (guitar), Theo Ellis (bass), and Joel Amey (drums) — formed in North London in 2010 and spent several years developing a sound that drew on shoegaze, grunge, and 1990s British alternative without feeling like a straightforward pastiche of any of those sources.
