New Found Glory

Appearing in: boston

New Found Glory formed in Coral Springs, Florida in 1997 and quickly became one of the central bands in the pop-punk explosion that swept through alternative music in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Their self-titled 2000 album on Drive-Thru Records introduced their blueprint — fast tempos, multipart guitar harmonies, melodic bass lines, and vocalist Chad Gilbert's earnest, immediately likable delivery — and the formula worked so well that it became a template that dozens of bands spent the following decade trying to reproduce.

Albums like Sticks and Stones (2002), Catalyst (2004), and Coming Home (2006) built on that foundation while the band established themselves as a permanent fixture of the Warped Tour circuit and alternative rock radio. They have continued releasing music and touring without significant interruption for nearly thirty years, a longevity that speaks to both their work ethic and the durability of their songs. Sharing a stage with Yellowcard on the Up Up Down Down Tour is a reunion of two bands who helped write the soundtrack of a very specific era of American youth — and whose audiences are now old enough to bring their own kids to the show.
