Motionless in White formed in Scranton, Pennsylvania in 2005 and spent the following years developing an aesthetic that set them visibly apart from their metalcore peers: heavy eyeliner, gothic imagery, and a visual sensibility drawn as much from horror films and industrial music as from the metalcore bands they toured alongside. Vocalist Chris Motionless's dramatic stage persona and the band's willingness to lean into spectacle gave them a distinct identity in a genre where most bands looked and presented similarly. Their 2010 debut Creatures established the template; albums including Reincarnate (2014) and Disguise (2019) built on it.

Their 2022 album Scoring the End of the World represented their most commercially successful and critically engaged record, debuting at number seven on the Billboard 200 and producing songs that demonstrated genuine songwriting ambition beyond the aesthetic framework. The Sweat and Blood Tour in 2026, with Lorna Shore, Fit for a King, and Static Dress as support, assembles a bill that covers a significant range within the current heavy music landscape — from Motionless's gothic metalcore to Lorna Shore's symphonic extreme metal to Fit for a King's anthemic metalcore. For heavy music fans, it is among the stronger metal packages touring in 2026.
