Black Veil Brides formed in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2006, founded by vocalist Andy Biersack — then performing under the name Andy Six. The name itself was drawn from the image of a bride dressed in black on her wedding day, a symbol of rebellion against conforming to others' expectations.

Their 2010 debut We Stitch These Wounds debuted at number one on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, introducing their signature blend of heavy guitar riffs, soaring choruses, and dramatic visual storytelling.
